Frisk hopes there's no fight. 

They want to be left alone, sure, but that's not the only thing they hope for. Even they can't just fix a--rivalry, a longstanding hatred, at least not when the opposing parties actually know each other. But they also hope they can...lessen it, at least a bit. So the Sandman doesn't try to outright kill--no, they're sorry, 'banish', with lots of beating and tarry blood--Pitch when they see each other every time.

(Of course, they don't know the whole story. But they can't imagine that would matter.)

The time ticks down in companionable silence. 

Frisk keeps their eyes on the sky--

--and they sit straight up when they first spot glimmering gold in the clouds.

"So you just cheered us on? 'S not nice, Mr. Boogeyman." They're amused by him being him, but even moreso by the implications of that being a fight.

...that's weirdly surprising, though. Would've expected him to want to hang out with the adults first.

"I dunno where she is right now. What did you do at those old parties? Like to?" they shift abruptly.

[boogerman]

Who knows what he would have done, if he hadn't seen the... 'fight'. "It is nice. You've created a new sport." Heh.

"...I didn't go to the 'old parties'. It's very, very rare that spirits gather like this." There haven't been enough spirits to have a party in centuries.

"Half-armless wrestling?" Since that's what it really was, in the end. At least the name sounds entertaining.

Frisk had meant the old human parties...but that gets them off track real quick.

Spirits sound awfully lonely.

"Hope you'll like this one."

[boogerman]

"You could try wrestling with only your legs." A weird form of footsie?

Saying he used to hide under tables is even worse than saying he never attended a party at all.

"I may even eat something."

"That would be boring to watch." That's the point of sports, right? Performing?

"You totally should!" bursts in the cat-girl from before, suddenly a lot closer along with her gator friend.

"This party has--" "--the best sugar--" "--junk I've ever seen!"

[boogerman]

"People watch golf on television." Not to mention chess. Footwresting can't be half as slow as those 'sports'.

He does indeed startle, jumping a bit. Not at all ashamed of it. Not at all trying too hard to hide it, only recovering gracefully.

"...only sugar?"

Do they actually? Frisk doesn't pay attention to that kind of stuff.

Ah yes. The most graceful, as Frisk's expression immediately flattening and the girls taking a tiny step to his sides instead of directly in his face show.

They speak simultaneously, almost, cat-and-alligator "There's like, all kinds of stuff--" "--there's ROAST, even--" "--but that's--" --the best--" "--BORING--!"

Pause as the cat's paws pop over her mouth. They stare at each other.

"Bratty! Come on, you TOTALLY LOVED the cookies--" "--Catty, don't hide it, you loved the roast!"

They crack up and then abruptly stop, looking back up at Pitch.

"There's EVERYTHING--" "--it's a feast--" "--and the dessert--" "--the dinner's--" "--the best!"

[boogerman]

Bratty and Catty. Nice rhyming nicknames, how cutesy. They're overwhelmingly hyperactive twits, it's like having two Toothianas in your face. Thank goodness they've not shoved fingers into his mouth or brought up teeth. His eyes flick between the two faces every time they interrupt each other. Back, forth, back, forth.

"Yes, yes, I get the point. It's very nice."

Interrupt, talk over each other--incredibly loud and quite possibly overwhelming.

"So how about--" "--you go get some already!" Bratty's noticed his lack of plate, and possibly his more recent arrival. She's a bit less of a cloudcuckoolander than Catty tends to be.

"...How about you let him party how he wants to," Frisk suggests.

[boogerman]

"Why now? It's not going to fly off, is it? Besides, it loses something when you've got no appetite." Sometimes he wonders what the craving for food is like, as a necessity and not a hobby.

[dustless]

"So you can--" "--have a chance--" "to enjoy all of it!" Duh!

"Hey, look, it's Alphys," Frisk says abruptly. They start to suggest maybe Pitch can meet her, or something, just as a distraction for him, but then Catty and Bratty light up and squeal and head off to greet her.

"...okay. Um, yeah. You can try whatever you want, whenever."

[boogerman]

"Maybe after all the human guests bugger off." And he won't be walked through in front of anyone, yeesh. "Catty and Bratty?"

[dustless]

Shrug. They have no idea when that'll be.

"...Yeah?" They stare at him blankly. They're used to monsters having odd names, neither of those strike Frisk as worth thinking about.

[boogerman]

"That says all I need to know about them. Rhyming names." It's painfully cute. Pain. Fully.

[dustless]

Ohhh. "Yeah, they're probably dating."

[boogerman]

"...So will almost everyone else in their lifetime and yet they don't change their names to rhyme."

Pitch please.

[dustless]

Frisk shrugs. "They've just been Catty and Bratty since I met them. Maybe it was just weird luck an' they made friends that way, I dunno."

[boogerman]

"If I could throw up, I might be doing so right now." Right, that. That was less bitchy and more of a joke.

[dustless]

They try not to smirk and fail. "Pitch, you're--you're fifty thousand, not five."

[boogerman]

"So? What are you trying to say? I lost all dignity and maturity when I came to this party and you wanted to decorate me."

[dustless]

"Still think it woulda looked nice." Anyway, no need to get into a blep fight with the boogeyman. "Do you want to walk around and stuff?"

[boogerman]

It's not really a fight when he threatens to rip or cut that tongue off instead of blepping back.

As normal people would.

What do normal people do at parties?

"What's there to see?"

[dustless]

"There's the stage...but it's bright. All the food. The most popular monsters." Which is all of them, in Frisk's book. "Can always just walk around the room or the whole mansion, everybody's going everywhere."

[boogerman]

It would be nice to meet a few friendly monsters. Is that worth being walked through by a stray human? He shrugs, figuring it might be after all.

"I'll take a walk, no reason not to."

[dustless]

"Cool--"

The lights on the stage get brighter, enough that it makes them blink. Okay, maybe...not a walk through the main party room right now.

"--um, what rooms d'you like to haunt most? Or just like in houses?"
