Frisk hopes there's no fight. 

They want to be left alone, sure, but that's not the only thing they hope for. Even they can't just fix a--rivalry, a longstanding hatred, at least not when the opposing parties actually know each other. But they also hope they can...lessen it, at least a bit. So the Sandman doesn't try to outright kill--no, they're sorry, 'banish', with lots of beating and tarry blood--Pitch when they see each other every time.

(Of course, they don't know the whole story. But they can't imagine that would matter.)

The time ticks down in companionable silence. 

Frisk keeps their eyes on the sky--

--and they sit straight up when they first spot glimmering gold in the clouds.

"She doesn't like me anyway--she." Hm. Train of thought. Holidays... "It's the longest night of the year. I wanted a holiday."

[dustless]

"...yeah she does. You wouldn't be 'llowed around me if she didn't. Not in the house, anyway." Toriel does know about his continued visits.

They glance out the window. It's a chilly night, lots of snow on the ground, though the sky is clear enough to see the stars.

"...halloween doesn't count, huh?"

[boogerman]

"She won't. Not forever. I'm the Boogeyman." He taps his foot on the floor to some tune, as he does.

"Halloween's for..." He gestures vaguely. "For busy. Fun, but not fun. This is different fun!"

"She's a monster. 'S long as you don't hurt me or anything, she doesn't care about that."

They tap their fingers on their leg, since they've shifted to be sitting cross-legged over the blankets.

"Different?"

...Maybe they should not be trying to get information out of a drunk guy.

[boogerman]

"I can't hurt you. But--but you know, she will." He's lost the tune, ah well. He sprawls backwards, too tall to fit sideways in a kid's bed, head able to touch the wall. Haaa. Does he have bones?? "But this is nice, till it's gone."

"Fear-fun. Like work."

...Can't? Frisk wonders if that's another spirit thing.

They fall back to lie beside him, too, and roll a little. "If she does, I'll get her to like you again." Armpat.

"Don't you get...work...like that on Halloween?"

[boogerman]

"You too." Awww what a precious child. He wants to touch their hair... but doesn't, not even wasted. (Maybe later.)

"Yes, yes, that's Halloween. This is today."

[dustless]

They're not sure what he's agreeing with, but they nod along anyway.

"Oh." Frisk is rapidly accepting that they're going to be entirely lost during most of this. "Your not-party party day. Maybe we can do something next time."

[boogerman]

"You get it." Nodding, good child. Good. "Solstice. The longest night. Except it's always night, but I had to have a day, right?"

Haaa, that rhymed.

Sure they do.

"Uh-huh. More night than day. Makes sense." Abrupt shift: "D'you want something to eat?" Food makes people a little less drunk, they've heard.

[boogerman]

"Marshmallows?" So fluffy so sweet. He holds that thought in his head for all of three seconds, before it's replaced by another... and he looks dead serious, propping himself up on one arm to look at Frisk. Then he's brushing back their hair, almost... shyly.

Sometimes he wonders why he doesn't have a child, thinks he should--that there should be a little girl who cares for him. He can't bring himself to voice that, though. Not even now.

"Oka--"

Frisk goes perfectly still.

It's only now that his fingers are in their hair that they notice exactly how...not touchy he usually is. Well, no, they noticed before, but this just makes it easier to remember.

They wonder if he'll regret this later. This action in particular. They think he's going to regret a lot of it, eventually, or at least be embarrassed.

They hope he won't stay away for long if he does.

If he can remember.

He draws his hand back, figures that's not a bad reaction and he's not upsetting them... so he does it again, hand brushing their hair. It's very clean, very soft.

Frisk'll let him keep doing that for a while. No reason not to so quickly, and it feels nice, too.

Eventually, though, they stretch out and prop themselves up on their elbows. "'M gonna fall asleep if you keep doing that," they say apologetically.

[boogerman]

"Oh." Oops. Well, he had his moment of... softness. He'll quit. "Did you want me to go away? So you can sleep?"

[dustless]

"No." The point was for Pitch to not be alone, they're not going to make him go away, even if that did make them a little more tired than they were before.

"Can get you marshmallows, though," they add, sitting up all the way.

[boogerman]

He's petting the soft blankets instead. Maybe what he needs is a kitten to snuggle.

Naturally, he'd forgotten about the possibility of marshmallows. "You keep them around?" Oh goodie!

[dustless]

That's weird and kind of cute.

"Yeah, for hot chocolate and stuff. 'Ll get some." They stand up and start heading towards the door. "You...should...stay here." If he doesn't, well, they'll just have to accept responsibility for what happens. But they hope he does.

[boogerman]

"What--what for?" What has he done wrong? He sits up, leaving the poor blankets alone. "I didn't do anything." Welllll, besides pet Frisk. Surely not wrong all of a sudden.

[dustless]

"...no, you just...forgot already. Lights, they'll hurt you, right?" they ask from the doorway.

Also their mom. But he seems to be messed up enough at the moment as it is. They don't want to get back into her not liking him somehow until he's...sober.

[boogerman]

"Oh. Damn lights." Good reason. The moment they leave the room, he pulls a bottle out from his shadows, where he can sense them there being heavy, and goes to town. Haha, flavor!

[dustless]

Frisk just gets the whole bag of them. The hot cocoa is monster-made, but they're not sure about just the marshmallows...they wonder if it'll matter. And also how Pitch is going to deal with the hangover if he can't sleep.

They come back after ripping it open, one of them in their mouth. Not just marshmallows, giant marshmallows.

"...what're you doing?"

[boogerman]

Excellent, that's what he was hoping for! The big fatties!

"I'm--I'm not done yet, see, not until it's gone. Why?"

[dustless]

"...why? I think you've...had...enough. Already," they say through their mouthful.

[boogerman]

"Because if I stop. It. It stops too?"

He's a spirit. It takes massive, massive amounts to keep the 'party' going. He holds out his hand for the yummy white fluffies...?
