The new house is bigger than what Oisín's used to. Built on a slope with two stories and a walkout basement that the Ó Mearas have all to themselves, even if it's also one of the more rundown places that they've stayed in. Particularly concerning is the rickety wooden fire escape (?) in the backyard, which runs from the top story of the house to the backyard below and looks like it might collapse if you so much as breathe on it funny, and seems unstable enough that Oisín's mom has bothered to warn him to be careful on it.
Not that he's had much of a chance to explore the fire escape or the rest of the house: The Ó Mearas have a lot of boxes that need to be moved in, so Oisín's running back and forth from the van to various rooms in the house under the haphazard direction of his family. Every now and then someone will yell at him for running, to which Oisín always retorts "But it's faster!" The new house is very rapidly becoming a confusion of boxes and yelling redheads.
